I'm a competitive Fortnite player, and the Bahrain region is the only AWS server location where I get consistently good ping. Has there been any update on when those servers might be fully operational again, or any reasonable estimate for their return?

I wouldn’t expect the Bahrain servers to return to normal anytime soon.
Have you checked your ping to the Dubai region? It has had some interruptions, but it’s still operating and may be a usable alternative if the latency is acceptable.
There probably won’t be a quick recovery. Ongoing regional conflict, damage to the facility, and the difficulty and expense of replacing infrastructure could keep the region limited for quite a while. I wouldn’t rely on the earlier short-term repair estimates.
So the couple of months they mentioned could end up stretching much longer, maybe even into 2027?
