I'm currently using an ASRock B450M motherboard, a Ryzen 7 3700X, and 32GB of 3200MHz RAM. I want to replace my RX 570, which has 4GB of VRAM and seems to be the main limitation in my video-editing work. I'm considering an RTX 3060 8GB or an RTX 2060 12GB, but I'm open to other options. I mainly edit video and would like to know whether a newer-generation GPU or extra VRAM would make the most sense. The best choice may depend on my editing software, resolution, frame rate, and the types of projects I work on.

For many editing applications, Nvidia cards are a safe option because CUDA and hardware-encoding support are widely used. A card with at least 12–16GB of VRAM can be worthwhile for higher-resolution or more demanding projects, but you should check the requirements for your specific software before buying. A newer 16GB card, such as an RX 9060 XT 16GB, may also offer good value if it is priced competitively.
