Mac loses Wi‑Fi as soon as Migration Assistant connects to Windows

I recently bought a MacBook Neo running macOS Tahoe and am trying to move my files from a Windows 11 PC using Migration Assistant. The Mac was already set up using my phone. Each time I enter the connection code shown by Migration Assistant, the Mac immediately drops its Wi‑Fi connection, so the Windows computer cannot connect. The Windows PC appears to have no problems, and I'm using the correct Windows-to-Tahoe migration software. I know a wired connection may work, but I'm waiting for a USB‑C hub. Is there a way to stop the Mac from disconnecting before the transfer begins?

Try the recovery steps in Apple’s Migration Assistant troubleshooting guide, including quitting and reopening Migration Assistant on both computers, restarting them, and running the Windows migration utility again. Also temporarily disable any VPN, third-party firewall, or security software and make sure both machines are on the same network. If the Mac still drops Wi‑Fi exactly when the connection code is entered, a wired Ethernet connection will probably be the most reliable workaround once your USB‑C hub arrives.

I already went through the troubleshooting prompts on the Windows side and they reported no problems, so I suspect the disconnect is happening on the Mac. I’ll retry after restarting both devices and checking for VPN or security software.
