My previous PC died, so I'm rebuilding from scratch and will only be reusing a 1TB NVMe drive. I want to move to DDR5 and have already chosen a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and an RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. The system will mainly be used for gaming and continuous streaming to Twitch and Discord, especially while playing Escape from Tarkov, with some Overwatch, Hunt: Showdown, Diablo, and similar games. I'm looking for strong performance, good thermals, and several years of usable life. What motherboard, DDR5 memory kit, power supply, CPU cooler, case, fans, and other components would you recommend? I'm considering a 1000W PSU for extra headroom and would also appreciate guidance on reliable aftermarket GPU and component brands. I'm not especially focused on looks anymore; performance, compatibility, and longevity matter most. I'm also open to adding another NVMe drive if 1TB may not be enough for games and streaming.

For the graphics card, don’t assume one brand is automatically best. Compare the specific models for cooler quality, noise, warranty, dimensions, and price. MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte, PNY, and other major vendors can all have good and mediocre models. The RTX 5070 Ti’s encoding support should handle game streaming well, so the main build priorities are stable memory, adequate airflow, and a quality PSU rather than overspending on an extreme motherboard or cooler.
Choose a reputable AM5 board with a strong VRM, updated BIOS support, and the features you actually need rather than paying extra for unnecessary cosmetic upgrades. I’d be cautious about ASRock boards for this particular X3D setup based on the compatibility concerns mentioned in the discussion, and I’d verify the exact BIOS support before buying any motherboard. For the PSU, look for an ATX 3.1 or newer unit with a native PCIe 5.x 12V-2x6 cable for the Nvidia card. A high-quality 1000W unit is already more than enough for this configuration; a 1200W model is reasonable only if it costs nearly the same and is from a reliable platform.
A solid starting point would be 32GB of DDR5-6000 with tight timings, ideally around CL30, since that’s a good match for this AM5 CPU. A quality B850 motherboard with Wi-Fi is plenty unless you specifically need extra expansion features. For storage, adding a second 2TB NVMe drive would be worthwhile—games and recordings can fill 1TB surprisingly quickly. For cooling, the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE is a strong-value air cooler, while a 240mm AIO is also fine if you prefer that style. A well-ventilated mid-tower case with several intake and exhaust fans is more important than the logo on the front.
That makes sense about adding storage. I’m leaning toward a 2TB NVMe drive and would probably choose an AIO instead of air cooling.
I’m less concerned with matching parts aesthetically now. My priority is dependable performance and longevity, so advice about motherboard and component brands is especially helpful.
