Why isn’t my HDMI showing up as an audio device?

Hey everyone! I just built a new PC and everything has been running fine, but I'm having trouble getting my HDMI connection to show up as an audio option. When I check my playback devices, I don't see HDMI listed at all, even when I enable hidden and disconnected devices.

I know there's nothing wrong with the HDMI or the TV, as they work perfectly with other devices. Also, I'm pretty sure it's not a driver issue since I've updated everything. I've even gone through the process of uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers both through Windows and directly from my motherboard's manufacturer site.

I'm at a loss here and haven't found any solutions online other than the standard driver fixes. Any ideas?

Just a heads up, you misspelled HDMI as HTMI in your post. Make sure you're checking the right settings! Also, on the TV's vendor website, you might find specific drivers for your model that could help, so it's worth a try!

Remember that HDMI might not show up as 'HDMI' but rather the name of your monitor or TV. If you installed the drivers correctly, you should see the device listed under a different name. Check that list closely!
