I've had my PC with an RTX 4090 for about a year, primarily for sim racing. I'm having this frustrating issue where after not using the PC for an hour, the screens go black and the only way to get them back is by restarting the computer. Additionally, while I'm gaming, the monitors black out after a couple of minutes, and the fans ramp up super loud, forcing me to shut everything down. I'm really at a loss here—what could be causing this and how can I fix it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

This could be a sign of your graphics card overheating or a driver crash. Ensure that your cooling system is effective—clean out the GPU heatsinks and fan intakes regularly. You might also try using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove the old video drivers, then reinstall the latest ones. If that doesn't work, you might want to check your game files for corruption or run the '/sfc scannow' command in an elevated command prompt to fix any system issues.
It sounds like your system might be overheating. You should monitor your CPU and GPU temperatures. Also, make sure to clean out your fans regularly.
Double-check your screensaver and power settings. Make sure that the display isn't set to turn off after a certain period and disable any wake timers that could be causing issues.
It seems like several users are experiencing similar issues. Definitely start with checking for driver updates, and if those are fine, consider using DDU to reinstall them. The blackouts could also suggest a driver timeout, where Windows stops communicating with the GPU. This might happen due to overheating or even a faulty power supply causing a kernel panic. If you’re not comfortable troubleshooting that yourself, it might be worth consulting a repair shop.
Have you checked if your graphics card drivers are up to date? Sometimes outdated drivers can cause screen issues.
I actually updated them today, but unfortunately, the problem happened again.
