I'm deciding between an Nvidia RTX 5070 with 12GB of VRAM and an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT with 16GB. I play a mix of competitive games and single-player titles, including games like Battlefield, and I'm mainly looking for high FPS and strong visual quality. I only have a basic understanding of PC hardware, so I'd appreciate advice on which card makes more sense. I'm also using a Corsair RM750e power supply and would like to know whether it's sufficient.

Your Corsair RM750e should be adequate for this system, assuming it’s functioning properly and connected with the recommended power cables. An 850W unit would provide more headroom, but replacing the 750W supply isn’t necessary just for either of these graphics cards. Also, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D is a very strong gaming CPU, so neither card should be considered an automatic mismatch; the GPU will normally be the limiting component at higher resolutions.
The RX 9070 XT is often around one performance tier above the RTX 5070, so similar pricing doesn’t mean they perform similarly. The 5070 may be worth considering for specific Nvidia features, VR, AI, or productivity software, but for regular 1440p or 4K gaming, the 9070 XT is the more powerful option.
