I've been unable to repair or uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable on my fully updated Windows 11 Home PC. Choosing Repair produces error 0x80070666, and Windows then asks for an installation package named "vc_runtimeAdditional_x86.msi" from an unavailable network location. The network-resource message usually means Windows Installer is looking for the original MSI source, which is no longer available. If reinstalling the matching x86 package does not fix it, use Microsoft’s Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter. Select the Visual C++ entry, let the tool remove the broken installer record, then install the latest x86 and x64 redistributables again. Avoid deleting registry entries manually.
Download the current Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable directly from Microsoft and run the x86 installer, since the missing package is vc_runtimeAdditional_x86.msi.
