I'm considering making the jump from Windows 10 to Arch Linux mainly out of curiosity about the operating system. However, I'm a bit worried since my PC is primarily used for gaming. I've heard that Linux isn't the best for gaming support, and I specifically play a lot of Rainbow Six Siege, which I heard has issues running on Proton. Is there any real benefit to switching, or should I just stick with Windows?

R6 Siege is really problematic on Linux due to anti-cheat issues. You'll find a lot of games don't support Linux at all. Instead of Arch, maybe look into something like Fedora or an Arch-based distro designed to be more user-friendly. Keep your gaming needs in mind!
If you're still curious about Linux, you could check out the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) as an option. It'll allow you to try out some Linux features without giving up on gaming. However, if gaming is your priority, Windows 11 could still be the better choice.
