Several apps, including Instagram, Snapchat, a fitness app, and Discord, suddenly say they don't have permission to use my camera or photos. When I tap the button that should open Settings, the camera and photo permissions aren't listed for those apps at all. I'm using iOS 18 and my phone is nearly out of storage, so I'm wondering whether that could be related. How can I restore the missing permissions?

This may also be an iOS permissions glitch. Make sure the phone is updated if you can free up enough storage, then restart it. If the settings remain missing, Reset All Settings may restore the permission controls, but it won’t delete your photos or apps; it will reset things like Wi-Fi networks and system preferences.
Check Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If restrictions are enabled, make sure Camera and Photos are allowed under the relevant settings. Restrictions can hide the permission switches from individual apps. After changing that, close and reopen the apps—or restart the phone—and the permission prompts should return.
I’m still on iOS 18 and don’t have much storage left, so I’ll try freeing some space and updating first. A soft restart actually fixed the problem for now, although I’m not sure what caused it.
