I'm trying to make my PC build completely white and want to replace the black shroud on my ASUS ROG Strix 4070 Ti. I haven't been able to find a white replacement, even on large overseas marketplaces. I'd rather not paint the original because I'm concerned about paint holding up around the GPU's heat. Someone suggested buying a broken white Strix 4080 or newer card for its shroud, but broken GPUs are still extremely expensive. Are there any companies or practical DIY options for getting a white shroud?

A high-temperature or engine-style paint would give you extra peace of mind, although ordinary plastic paint should also be fine at GPU shroud temperatures. While the cooler is apart, you could also replace the thermal paste and pads if they’re due for replacement. That turns the project into a cosmetic refresh plus a chance to improve the card’s long-term cooling.
Painting the shroud is probably safer than you think. It gets warm, but not nearly hot enough for normal properly prepared paint to fail just because it’s on a GPU. Remove the shroud, clean it thoroughly, lightly sand it, mask the fans and hardware, then use several thin coats of plastic-compatible primer and paint. Plasti Dip is another option and can be removed later.
There don’t seem to be many companies producing custom GPU shrouds. Each card has a different PCB, cooler, mounting pattern, and fan layout, so the market would be pretty niche. You could check independent 3D-printing or PC-modding shops, but finding one made specifically for a Strix 4070 Ti may take some luck.
Would you recommend treating it like painting a 3D print—sanding, masking, priming, and applying multiple light coats—or is there a better process?
