I recently noticed that my Ryzen 5 3600 heats up to around 60-70°C right after I power on my PC, even when it's just idling. In contrast, when I switched to a Ryzen 5 5500, the temperatures dropped significantly to around 40-50°C while idle. I'm using an ASRock B450 motherboard and a Wraith Stealth cooler. Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong with the Ryzen 5 3600 and if there's any way to fix it?

One quick fix you might want to try is replacing the thermal paste on your Ryzen 5 3600. Sometimes the stock paste can degrade, leading to higher temperatures. I personally use Deepcool Z5, and it works great! You can find good application guides online if you're unsure about redoing it.
I've found that the 3600 tends to run a bit hotter compared to the 5500. If you're looking for better cooling, consider upgrading your cooler. It should help bring those temperatures down significantly!
It's worth noting that the Ryzen 5 5500 is built on a more efficient Zen 3 architecture, so it naturally runs cooler. The temperatures you're seeing with the 3600 might not be a big issue unless you also know how much power each CPU is drawing. There might not actually be anything wrong with it at all!
