I sent my PC in for repair and forgot to log out of Brave first. My TikTok, Google, and other accounts were still signed in, and I often used QR codes instead of typing passwords. I've remotely signed out of the accounts and removed the computer from active sessions wherever possible, but I'm worried that Brave may still contain saved passwords, passkeys, cookies, or other login data locally. Is remote logout enough, or should I take additional steps to protect my accounts while the computer is being repaired?

For anything sensitive, change the password and revoke all active sessions anyway. Also review and remove unfamiliar passkeys, trusted devices, recovery methods, and third-party app access. QR-code logins still create local cookies or session tokens, so they aren’t automatically safer if someone can open the browser profile.
If the repair shop can access your unlocked operating-system account, saved passwords and passkeys stored in Brave could potentially be exposed even after online logout. Ask the shop not to access personal data, and once the computer is back, scan it, update the OS and browser, and change important credentials again if you’re unsure. In the future, use a separate repair account or wipe and back up the machine first.
Remote sign-out usually invalidates the browser’s active sessions, even if the computer is currently offline. For Google, check the account’s security page, review the device list, and sign out the computer from there. Do the equivalent on every important service.
