Hey everyone! I'm having a weird issue with my Dell PC (8th gen, from 2017). It doesn't boot up like a regular computer. Instead, I have to hold down the power key for about a minute, then release it for 5 seconds before holding it down again. I usually have to repeat this process about 3 to 4 times, which ends up taking around 4 to 5 minutes in total. I discovered this method after a lot of trial and error when I noticed that holding the button longer seemed to help. I'm not looking to send it for repair since it does eventually start up. The power key feels fine and clicks properly, but there's clearly a delay. I always make sure to plug in the power cable, thinking it might help. Does anyone know why this is happening, or what I can do to fix it? The PC works perfectly fine once it's started up. Thanks for your help!

Have you tried testing the power button's continuity? It might not be making a connection properly, which could cause the delay when trying to power it on. Just a thought!
It could be an issue with a failing power supply. If it's delayed but does start eventually, it might be worth looking into that.
That's interesting! It does turn on eventually, so maybe it’s more of a delay than a full failure. Still, I’ll keep that in mind!
I appreciate the suggestion! Just to clarify, I do hold the button down firmly, so I don't think it's just a matter of not pressing it right. I've used various laptops myself, so I know my way around these things.
