I'm fairly new to Apple and have been seeing repeated charges attempted on my credit card, sometimes several times a day and for varying amounts, including charges over $40. My card is currently locked, so the payments are being declined. I don't have any paid apps installed, and I'm not sure what subscription or purchase is causing this.
This happened once before with another card. I contacted my bank and stopped the charges, but Apple only refunded the two most recent payments even though the charges had continued for months. Now Apple is attempting to bill a different card, and the amounts are higher.
The App Store also won't let me download apps unless I add a payment method it can charge. When I try to find out which purchase is responsible, it doesn't show enough information. How can I identify and cancel the subscription, and who at Apple should I contact to resolve the billing issue?

You may have started subscriptions through apps that offered free trials. Deleting the apps doesn’t cancel those subscriptions, so check your Apple account’s subscription list first. It’s safer to contact Apple Support and sort it out directly rather than immediately filing a chargeback, since a disputed payment can potentially lead to restrictions on your Apple account.
On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name and profile picture at the top, then select Subscriptions. That page lists active subscriptions, their prices, and renewal dates. You can cancel any unwanted subscription there.
Go to Settings, tap the account section at the top, and choose Subscriptions. Review the active plans and cancel anything you don’t recognize or no longer want. Canceling should stop future renewals, but it doesn’t automatically refund previous charges, so ask Apple Support separately about requesting a refund.

That may be what happened. I probably installed trial-based apps and deleted them without realizing the subscriptions continued. I didn’t know how to cancel them—what’s the best way to contact Apple Support?
