Can I Recover Data From an iPhone 12 Stuck in a Boot Loop?

My iPhone 12 is stuck in a boot loop and restarts too quickly for a normal update or restore to complete. Apple Support told me that repairing it would erase everything, but I'm hoping there's a way to access the phone's storage, copy my photos, app data, and other files to separate storage, and restore them after the repair. I don't rely on iCloud, and I'm also locked out of my authenticator apps, which I need for school and social media accounts. Is there anything I can try myself, or would a professional data-recovery service be my only option? I start my senior year of college in four days.

A specialist might be able to recover the data, but this usually requires advanced hardware and forensic tools, especially because modern iPhones encrypt the storage and tie the encryption keys to the device. It’s likely to be expensive and may take several days or longer. Look for a reputable phone-data-recovery or microsoldering specialist, explain that preserving the data is more important than repairing the phone, and contact several providers before sending it anywhere.

There generally isn’t a reliable DIY way to copy the storage from a boot-looping iPhone. Removing the memory chip or connecting it to another phone won’t bypass the encryption, and opening the device can reduce the chances of recovery. Before trying anything else, check whether you have an existing computer backup, iCloud backup, or synced photos and files.
