Why is my new PC’s CPU running at 100% for basic tasks?

I just built my PC two days ago, and it's been experiencing a major issue where the CPU usage is skyrocketing to 100% even during the simplest tasks. I'm not sure what's causing this problem and could really use some help. Has anyone else dealt with this issue or have any ideas on how to fix it?

First off, what's the spec list of your build? Knowing your hardware can help in troubleshooting this CPU spike. If you got something like an ancient Pentium chip, that might explain a lot!

The specs are:
- Ryzen 5 5600 GT
- B450 Steel Legend
- 1 TB NVMe SSD
- 16 GB RAM
- Corsair 650W PSU

You should fire up Task Manager and monitor what's hogging all the CPU resources. It might give you a clue about which app is causing the issue. Since you assembled it yourself, there shouldn't be too much junk software running, but still, check for heavy hitters like Steam or Chrome—they can sometimes be resource hogs!

I checked, and it’s weird because there's no obvious app using all the CPU... it just doesn't make sense for any basic app to be doing that.
