My husband upgraded his laptop from Windows 10 to Windows 11, and everything appeared normal until he brought it home. The laptop detects and connects to other wireless networks, including his workplace network, but our home Wi‑Fi does not appear at all. Every other device in the house connects normally. I've restarted the modem, tried adding the network manually, and even tested an Ethernet cable, but nothing has fixed it. What else should we check?

The modem or gateway may need a firmware update. An internet provider can sometimes see the device or network on their end and push an update remotely. If the laptop connects elsewhere but cannot even detect the home network, updating the gateway and then restarting it is worth trying.
Check whether the router or laptop supports the security mode your home network is using, especially WPA3. A compatibility issue between the upgraded Windows wireless driver and the router’s encryption settings could prevent the network from appearing. You may need to test WPA2 or mixed WPA2/WPA3 mode instead of WPA3-only.
I enabled WPA3 on the modem, but the laptop still couldn’t see the network, so that setting alone didn’t solve it for me.
That turned out to be the issue in a similar case—the provider updated the modem’s firmware, and the laptop started seeing the home network afterward.
