I'm planning a gaming PC with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB of GDDR6. My total budget is around A$2,500, and I may upgrade to an RTX 5080 later. Does this pairing make sense, or would it be better to choose a less expensive CPU and put more of the budget toward a faster graphics card now?

If the current parts fit your budget, there’s nothing wrong with the pairing. The RX 9060 XT will be the performance limit in most games, but that isn’t a problem unless you’re paying a large premium for the 7800X3D. Just make sure the power supply, case airflow, and motherboard are suitable for the eventual high-end GPU upgrade.
