I'm planning to buy a gaming PC in the United States around Black Friday, with a budget of about $1,200 for the tower only. I already have a monitor and peripherals. I'd like to play demanding AAA games, including GTA 6 when available, at 1440p with good image quality and smooth FPS. Ideally, the system would have a reasonable upgrade path instead of needing major changes right away.

I've never built a PC and don't know much about component quality or compatibility. Would I be better off buying a discounted prebuilt, or purchasing individual parts and getting help assembling them?
