My iPad Pro's screen is badly cracked, and I can't enter the final two digits of my passcode because that part of the touchscreen no longer responds. I'm sending it to Asurion for repair, but some of my files were never backed up to iCloud. Is there a simple way to enter the passcode or otherwise access my data before handing it over?

If the screen still responds in another orientation, rotate the iPad between portrait and landscape and see whether the passcode buttons move away from the damaged area.
A repair shop may be able to temporarily connect a replacement display so you can unlock the iPad and make a backup, then reinstall the damaged display for the insurance repair. Ask about this before using up too many passcode attempts, especially if the cracked screen is registering accidental touches. Removing the device from your account won’t recover local files, so make sure the data is backed up before erasing or sending it in.
Try connecting a USB-C keyboard to the iPad and typing the passcode that way. You may need a USB-C hub or adapter depending on the keyboard, but this could let you unlock it without using the damaged part of the screen.
