I'm hoping to replace my aging prebuilt computer sometime in the future, but I have no experience choosing parts or assembling a PC. I mainly play Minecraft, Roblox games such as Pressure and Doors, Terraria, and similar titles. I'm not looking to run several demanding modern games—just Roblox at graphics settings above 2 without lag and a generally smooth experience.
I'll be buying the computer in Romania, but I don't know my exact budget yet because I'm unsure what a suitable build should cost. I'm probably aiming for the lower or middle end. I already have a Lenovo monitor, Scorpion keyboard, mouse, and headphones, although I may replace the headphones later. I also prefer a simple, non-flashy computer without unnecessary lighting.
Would a custom-built PC be worthwhile for these games, or would a prebuilt be a better choice for someone inexperienced? I'd also appreciate an overview of how PC building works and what specifications I should look for. My current computer was a gift, and I don't know its specifications yet, but I can find them if that would help determine whether I only need a few upgrades.

If you’re uncomfortable assembling a computer, compare reputable prebuilts from local retailers rather than choosing one based only on flashy branding. For your games, you don’t need a high-end machine, but make sure the listing clearly names the processor, graphics solution, RAM, and storage. Avoid vague descriptions such as “gaming PC” that don’t list the parts.
A basic building tutorial is worth watching even if you ultimately buy a prebuilt. Building is mostly installing the processor, cooler, memory, storage, motherboard, power supply, and graphics card, then connecting the cables and installing the operating system. It isn’t as complicated as it looks, and understanding the components will also help you avoid poor-value prebuilts and make upgrades later.
Before buying anything, find the exact specifications of your current computer. In Windows, you can check the processor and installed RAM in System Information or Task Manager, and look for the graphics card in Device Manager. It’s possible that upgrading one or two parts, such as adding RAM, replacing a hard drive with an SSD, or installing a better graphics card, would be enough.
