I currently have an RTX 2060 and am wondering whether it is worth upgrading. My budget is around $400, and I want a card that can handle 1440p gaming at over 120 FPS when possible. I play demanding games such as milsim titles, so I realize performance will depend on the game, graphics settings, CPU, and memory. At this budget, used cards are probably the best value. Look for an RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 4070, or Radeon RX 7800 XT from a reputable local seller. Compare prices, check the card’s condition, and make sure your power supply and case can handle it. The upgrade from an RTX 2060 should be substantial.
Before buying anything, check your processor and RAM, especially if Squad is one of your main games. That game can be CPU-limited, so replacing the graphics card alone might not solve poor performance. You could also keep the RTX 2060 for secondary use, but a used RTX 3080 or 3080 Ti, or a new 16GB RX 9060 XT, would be the most sensible upgrade paths.
If you can stretch the budget a bit, a Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM is a stronger long-term choice. For 1440p, 8GB can already become limiting in newer games when using high or ultra texture settings, so the 16GB model would give you more headroom.
