My SteelSeries headphones are about nine months old and stopped producing sound on my laptop a few days ago, apparently after a power outage while they were connected. The microphone still works, and the headphones play audio normally when connected to my phone, so the headset itself seems functional. The problem only affects the laptop. I've already checked Windows Sound Settings, Volume Mixer, mmsys.cpl, Device Manager, Windows Audio and Audio Endpoint Builder services, the Realtek Audio Universal Service, Realtek Audio Console, and the Realtek audio driver. What else could I check?

Since the microphone still works and the headphones work on your phone, the headset is probably not completely broken. The remaining possibilities are the laptop’s selected playback device, the headphone jack or USB adapter, or damage to the laptop’s audio output from the power event. Try a different audio port or adapter, confirm the SteelSeries device is selected as the default output, and test another pair of headphones on the laptop. If another headset also has no sound, the laptop’s output hardware or driver may need repair or a clean reinstall.
