I just finished building my first PC, and all the fans and lights come on, so it seems to boot normally. However, the monitor stays blank. I've tried connecting the HDMI cable to both the motherboard's video output and the graphics card. The GPU is a Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 6800. The CPU is a Ryzen 7 700X. What should I check next?

Since you get no image from either output, the issue may be elsewhere rather than the GPU itself. Check the motherboard power cables, RAM seating, and any diagnostic LEDs or beep codes. Also keep in mind that the motherboard’s HDMI port only works if the CPU provides integrated graphics.
Confirm that the monitor is set to the HDMI input instead of relying on automatic source detection. A bad or incompatible cable can cause the same blank-screen symptom, so try another HDMI cable if possible, or test with DisplayPort from the graphics card.
I’ll try another cable and switch the monitor input manually. I may test DisplayPort as well once I rearrange the setup.
Start with the physical connections: make sure the HDMI cable is fully seated, the RX 6800 is pushed completely into the PCIe slot, and all of the GPU’s PCIe power connectors are attached securely. It’s worth removing and reinstalling the card if you’re not sure it clicked into place.
I’ll double-check the card and its power connectors. Installing the GPU was the part I felt least confident about.
Also make sure the card is properly supported and secured to the case so it isn’t being pulled upward or sitting at an angle.
The CPU I installed is a Ryzen 7 700X, so I’ll check whether its integrated graphics support matches what I’m expecting and inspect the motherboard indicators.
