Will my PC handle 1440p gaming for the next few years?

I just built my PC and I'm curious if it's capable of future-proofing for 1440p gaming. Here are my specs: AMD 9700X CPU, ASUS TUF X670 Plus motherboard, RTX 4070 Super GPU, Noctua CPU cooler, 5TB of NVMe storage, and 64GB DDR5 RAM running at 5600MHz. I'm especially concerned about the longevity of this setup with upcoming games. Any thoughts?

Your build looks solid for 1440p right now, but predicting the future is tricky. Optimization in games can change, so while you should be fine for a few years, I wouldn't say it's entirely future-proof. You'll likely be able to play new games with some adjustments for a good while, though!

I've seen a lot of debates about VRAM lately. Some say 12GB isn't enough for certain new titles. Have you thought about upgrading your GPU down the line?

The RAM seems a bit unconventional, but if it took you a while to stabilize, then it might be worth keeping it for now.

In the long run, nothing is truly future-proof. The tech landscape is always changing, and needing more than 12GB of VRAM is already starting to happen. Your setup is good, but in a few years, you might want an upgrade for the latest games.

I’ve played with older setups and had good experiences thanks to technologies like DLSS. You might find your system handles things well initially, but as games get more demanding, you'll want to lower some settings over time.

I had a 2070 Super for years at 4K and it was fine, but I had to compromise. Keep an eye on those settings as newer titles come out.

Just keep in mind that newer games might start pushing your limits. Depending on how you play, it could still work for quite a while.

Honestly, saying your PC is future-proof is misleading. It’ll likely become less capable in about 5 years as games continue to evolve, but for now, it should serve you well with some settings adjustments.

It's more than capable for now, but future-proof? Not really. You'll start noticing limitations with VRAM soon, especially on demanding games. You might end up having to tweak settings to keep up.
