Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading my current prebuilt system, which has a Ryzen 3600 CPU, a 3060 12GB GPU, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM powered by a 550W PSU. I'm looking at swapping out the CPU for a 5700X3D and the GPU for either a 5070 or a 9070, depending on which is cheaper. I think this could be a substantial upgrade for about 700€, and I might sell my old CPU and GPU for around 200€. Do you think this is a good move, or would it be better to just build a new system from scratch?

You might still be fine with a 550W psu if you're getting the 5700X3D, since it doesn't draw that much power. Just ensure it’s a reliable model.
Before you make any decisions, check if your motherboard can handle the 5700X3D. If it's one of the DIY brands like MSI or ASUS, you should be good. If it's a Dell motherboard, it might not fit properly.
Just keep in mind that your 550W PSU might struggle with the new components. The 5700X3D requires more power than the 3600, and pairing it with a stronger GPU could tip you over the limit. If you're replacing the CPU and GPU anyway, why not just build new?

Honestly, I'd recommend building a new system instead. With AM5, plus a new PSU, and I’d suggest going for 32GB of RAM. You could keep your current GPU for a bit until you save up for the new one!
