I'm struggling to find a Linux calendar that feels reliable. GNOME Calendar and several other options don't seem to import .ics files properly. KOrganizer looks promising, but I can't find a way to set a default time zone or region, so I have to choose it for every event. It also appears to forget configuration changes after restarting. What calendar would you recommend for straightforward .ics importing and persistent regional settings?

GNOME Calendar can sometimes open an .ics file directly: locate the file in the file manager, right-click it, and choose Calendar under “Open With.”
Thunderbird includes a calendar with an import feature. If you already use Thunderbird for email, its calendar may be the simplest option to try.
I tried opening the file that way, but it still didn't work for me.
