What should I spend my $600 office stipend on?

I just received a $600 stipend from my company to upgrade my home office. I already have a solid setup with an IKEA chair, dual monitor setup, AirPods, AT2020 microphone, and an HD webcam. Since I spend 6-8 hours a day at my desk, I'm looking for suggestions to improve comfort and focus, rather than aesthetics. Should I invest in a standing desk, noise panels, a new keyboard, or something else? What would you choose in my situation? Also, if you have tips on good deals, I'd love to hear them!

Honestly, start with a good ergonomic keyboard. They’re kind of a game changer for comfort during long typing sessions. If you're feeling adventurous, pair it with an adjustable desk and a footrest!

Agreed! I switched to a split ergonomic keyboard and it really helped.

That's a good thought! Small changes can make a big difference.

Consider replacing your dual monitors with one ultrawide screen! It’s a little over $600, but it offers so much more screen real estate. If you do a lot of multitasking, you'll love it!

How do you like it? I’ve been curious about making the switch myself.

I've been thinking about that too! Ultrawides seem pretty cool.

You really can't go wrong with investing in a comfy chair. If you're sitting for hours, a quality chair can save your back. Steelcase chairs are a bit cheaper than Herman Miller but still great quality. Just make sure you try it out before buying!

Yeah, I totally back this! A good chair is essential for long hours.

If I had my choice, I'd go for a used Aeron; they are really nice!

Look into noise-canceling headphones if distractions are an issue. But seriously, upgrading your desk and chair should be priority number one!

I'd definitely second that! A good chair is a must.

Yeah, I find that a decent setup with a proper chair and desk is life-changing.

A standing desk was a total game changer for me! Brands like Flexispot or Autonomous have some solid options. I found the Smartdesk 2 for around $400—it’s not fancy, but it's super stable and has a nice cable tray to manage wires. I also use an Ergostool which has really helped my back. My productivity even improved! Definitely worth considering if you're spending long hours at your desk.

Sounds great! Do you have any specific models you'd recommend?

Totally agree! It makes such a difference, especially if you can add a treadmill or bike under it for even more movement!
