What’s the most affordable way to replace a gaming laptop after a house fire?

My house burned down last Sunday night, and I lost my gaming laptop along with my consoles and other belongings. The laptop was an older Acer Predator, though I don't know the exact model. It had 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, and about a 500 GB SSD. A family member gave it to me, and I'm hoping to replace it as soon as possible without spending much. Given current prices and our limited budget, would it be cheaper to build or buy a desktop, purchase a used system, or look for another laptop?

If insurance won’t help and you need something inexpensive, look for a used desktop or gaming laptop from a reputable local seller. A system with a GTX 1660 Ti, RTX 2060, or a similar graphics card should provide performance close to what you had. Test it thoroughly, check the temperatures, and avoid sending payment before seeing the machine in person.
