I'm looking for upgrade advice because I'm not very experienced with PC hardware. My current system has an RTX 4090 24GB, an Intel i7-13700KF, 64GB of DDR5-5200, a Z790 motherboard, a 2TB M.2 SSD, a 1000W power supply, and an MSI MAG CoreLiquid P360 AIO. I game mainly at 2560×1440 and use a 240Hz main monitor alongside a 1920×1080 240Hz secondary display. Most of what I play is single-player or AAA gaming, and the system currently runs everything well. I simply enjoy high frame rates and would like to get closer to consistently using the 240Hz refresh rate when games allow it, while keeping high graphics settings. I'm considering moving to a Ryzen 7 9850X3D, which would require an AM5 motherboard. I already have 64GB of RAM, but I've heard that DDR5-6000 CL30 is a better match for AM5 X3D processors. Would replacing my DDR5-5200 kit produce a noticeable improvement, or would it make more sense to keep it? If this were your system, would you upgrade the CPU and motherboard, choose different parts, upgrade the monitor, or simply leave everything alone for now? I'm not interested in replacing the RTX 4090 and would rather avoid spending a lot for a barely noticeable performance increase.

For the games you described, I’d probably keep the system as-is. A 13700KF and RTX 4090 are already extremely powerful, and moving to an X3D chip would mainly help in CPU-limited games, competitive titles, simulators, and situations where you’re chasing very high frame rates at lower settings. In cinematic AAA games at higher resolutions, the improvement may not justify buying both a CPU and motherboard. If you want a more noticeable change, a high-refresh OLED monitor—especially a 4K model—could improve the overall experience more than a platform swap.
