I just bought another TV and want to set up a dual monitor system for my PC, but both TVs are showing the same image even when using an HDMI splitter. Can I get them to display different things simultaneously? If not, would switching one TV for a monitor allow me to achieve this?

If your tower has only one working HDMI port and the other is on the motherboard but doesn’t work, that's likely a limitation. You might consider getting a graphics card that has multiple outputs, or if you manage to use the motherboard's HDMI, check your BIOS settings—you might need to enable it there!
Having just a splitter won’t let you extend your display to two separate screens. Your PC needs to support multiple monitors, which typically requires having two HDMI outputs. You might want to look for a USB-C (Thunderbolt) dock that provides HDMI output along with your computer’s HDMI port. If you’re using a tower, it may be necessary to add another graphics card for full functionality.
