I've had this PC for about two years, and over the past few weeks it has started shutting itself off during games, especially Path of Exile 1 and 2. At first I suspected overheating because the shutdowns became more frequent, eventually reaching the point where the system would no longer boot. I replaced the graphics card, and the computer started working again, but the shutdown problem still happens occasionally. I've already cleaned the case thoroughly with compressed air, but that hasn't solved it. The system uses an MSI MS-7E26 motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, 16 GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070. What temperatures and other hardware checks should I perform, and is this something I can diagnose or fix myself?

Use a monitoring tool such as HWiNFO while gaming and check the CPU, GPU, motherboard, and hotspot temperatures. If those temperatures stay within normal limits, an overheating issue becomes less likely. Sudden power-offs without a blue screen can also point to a failing or undersized power supply, so the PSU model, wattage, age, and cable connections are important details to verify.
Can a power supply really fail after only two years? I’m also unsure how that would explain the system eventually refusing to boot with the original graphics card, although replacing the card did get it running again.
