I'm finally able to buy my first proper PC, mainly for architecture work and some casual story-driven gaming. My workflow includes AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, occasional Blender work, Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere. For gaming, I'm not focused on competitive performance.
The build I'm considering is:
- Intel Core i5-14400F
- ASUS Dual RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7
- MSI PRO B760-P WIFI DDR4
- 16GB DDR4-3200
- MSI SPATIUM M461 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD
- DeepCool CG530U 4F case
- GamerStorm P750W 80+ Bronze power supply
- DeepCool LM360 360mm cooler
I originally planned on the RTX 5060 because it fits my budget and would be a huge upgrade from my GTX 1050. However, I'm wondering whether it would be worth spending an additional 100D for the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, or about 200D for the 5060 Ti 16GB. The 16GB version would push me well beyond my budget. Should I prioritize the stronger GPU, more system RAM, or the extra VRAM for my software and gaming needs?

The 16GB graphics card would be the most comfortable option for heavier scenes and newer games, since 8GB of VRAM can become restrictive. That said, the price jump is significant, and 32GB of regular RAM is probably the more important upgrade for your current architecture and Adobe workload. If the 16GB Ti forces you to stay at 16GB system RAM, I wouldn’t choose it.
One useful thing to check is actual VRAM usage in the games and architecture projects you expect to run. Some modern games can use 12–13GB even on a 16GB card, so 8GB may become a limitation sooner than the raw GPU performance does. Still, with this budget, I’d rather have 32GB of system RAM and accept the 5060 than overspend on the 16GB Ti.
It may also be worth comparing AMD cards in the same price range. A Radeon RX 9070 XT can offer considerably more performance than a 5060 Ti, although it may be outside your budget. Since you use several creative applications, check the exact GPU and renderer support for your software before switching brands. For your current budget, the RTX 5060 plus 32GB of RAM is a reasonable starting point.
The 9070 XT is unfortunately beyond my budget, so I’m sticking with the 5060 and putting the extra money toward system memory.
I’d prioritize upgrading the system memory to 32GB before spending heavily on the Ti model. Sixteen gigabytes of RAM is pretty limiting for Revit, Lumion, Blender, Photoshop, and Premiere, especially when multitasking. If you still have money left afterward, consider the 5060 Ti 8GB, but don’t sacrifice enough RAM to get it.
That’s what I’m leaning toward now—more system RAM first, and possibly the 8GB Ti if there’s anything left in the budget.
