Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my GPU and would love your advice before dropping over €600. Here's what I currently have:
- **CPU:** Intel i9 9900K
- **GPU:** NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER
- **RAM:** 32 GB DDR4
- **Motherboard:** MSI Z390-A PRO
- **PSU:** I think it's around 650w since it works fine with my 2070 SUPER
- **Case:** NZXT H5
- **Cooling:** Kraken X AIO (liquid cooling)
I mostly play games at **1440p**, and I don't have super demanding graphical needs, but I've noticed my system stutters on games like Cyberpunk and Alan Wake 2, with the fans really kicking in and frame rates dropping. I'm considering the **MSI GeForce RTX 5070 12G SHADOW 2X OC** for around €600.
I'm primarily looking for smoother performance at 1440p with medium to high settings without straining my rig too much. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

Just a heads up, don't get too hung up on the 9900K being 'bad.' It's still pretty solid for gaming. What matters is how the GPU handles your games. Unless you're looking to stream or do heavy multitasking, I'd say go for the upgrade! Plus, if the prices of newer CPU models drop, you can always think about that later.
Honestly, if you're doing fine with an RTX 4070 TI, the RTX 5070 should be perfect for you at 1440p. I did some research, and even though the 9900K isn't the latest and greatest, it can still hold its own. Just consider if you ever want to game and stream simultaneously; it might start struggling then. But for now, upgrading should give you that smoother experience you're looking for.
