Are You Prepared for a Smooth Migration to Linux?

Hey everyone! I'm planning to switch to Linux today and just finished backing up all my critical data on an external USB drive formatted as FAT32. Is that setup reliable for this migration? I'm a bit anxious because this data is super important to me, and I really don't want to face any issues. Any tips or precautions I should take before I dive in?

Before you proceed, consider checking out the migration page in our wiki for guidance. It’s filled with useful tips! And remember, only use root access when absolutely necessary. Always verify the integrity of your ISOs before installing, and steer clear of third-party repos unless you trust them completely.

You're mostly good to go! Just keep in mind that with FAT32, you can't store files larger than 4 GB, so if any of your data exceed that limit, you'll need to split them up. Also, USB drives can get corrupted if removed improperly, so make sure you eject it safely! FAT32 works fine with most systems but isn't the safest option out there.

No worries! I checked my files on the drive and confirmed they’re all intact.
