Is my scratched motherboard a big deal?

Hey everyone, I recently tried installing a Deepcool AG200 cooler and had a bit of a mishap. While I was using a flathead screwdriver to push down on one of the latches for the mounting bracket, it slipped and scratched my motherboard. I know, not the smartest move! Fortunately, my PC still boots and runs fine, but I'm worried about any long-term effects from the scratch. Will it just be a cool blemish on the Gigabyte logo, or could this lead to future problems? I'll share a picture in the comments. Thanks in advance!

I checked the picture you posted, and honestly, the scratch doesn't look too bad at all. It seems like it's just a little surface scuff. As long as the copper isn't exposed, you're in the clear!

Agreed! Just keep an eye on it, but I think you're good to go.

Looks like you didn't go deep enough to damage anything serious. Just a protective layer scratched, so it's nothing to worry about. Trust me, I've made way worse mistakes and my PCs are still kicking!

Yeah, that was risky, but it sounds like you lucked out! The scratch is probably just on the solder mask and didn't expose any copper. So, you should be fine in the long run. Just avoid putting too much force on metal tools near sensitive components in the future!
