Should I Choose the RTX 3070 Ti or RTX 4060 Ti?

I'm deciding between an RTX 3070 Ti priced at £260 and an RTX 4060 Ti priced at £310. Both cards have 8GB of VRAM. Which one offers better performance and value, and is the newer card's frame-generation support worth paying the extra £50 for?

It may also be worth checking the price of a Radeon RX 7800 XT. If one is available near your budget, it offers substantially more VRAM and can be a better choice for 1440p gaming.

VRAM is worth considering, but since both of these cards have 8GB, it doesn’t really separate them. At these prices, the 3070 Ti is the stronger value unless you specifically prioritize frame generation, lower power use, or newer features.

The 3070 Ti is generally the faster card, while the 4060 Ti mainly adds better efficiency and frame-generation support. The 4060 Ti could make sense if it’s the 16GB model and you specifically want to play demanding 1440p games, but for the 8GB version I’d stick with the 3070 Ti.

That makes sense. I was mainly wondering whether frame generation made the 4060 Ti worthwhile, but the 8GB limit does make the 3070 Ti seem like the better deal.
