Hey everyone! I'm a web developer living in Japan, mostly working with JavaScript and PHP. I transitioned from a different field where I spent about three years learning about AWS and Linux, obtaining some certifications along the way. Although I picked up the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript through various training platforms, I didn't get much hands-on experience. Now, I've been in my current job for about five months, hired for my potential rather than my experience. Lately, I've felt that the technical demands at my workplace are much higher than my current skills.
To improve, I recently started the Foundations Course at The Odin Project, focusing on JavaScript Basics. One major hurdle I've encountered is my heavy reliance on AI while coding. Whenever I face a problem, I not only ask AI for solutions but also for explanations, which sometimes feels like I'm avoiding truly understanding the material. This dependency is beginning to shake my confidence. I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether this is a common concern and any advice on how to study and develop my skills further as a developer. Thanks in advance for your insights!

Using traditional methods, like googling and reading documentation, can really help build your understanding of concepts. While it might take a bit longer at first, this approach helps you avoid becoming overly reliant on AI, which can sometimes give you superficial knowledge.
