What GPU Upgrade Pairs Well With an i7-8700K?

RAM prices are making it difficult for me to replace my whole platform right now. I currently have a GTX 1080, an i7-8700K, and 32GB of DDR4 memory. I'm looking for the best graphics card I can buy now that will work well with the 8700K, since I plan to upgrade the motherboard, CPU, and RAM later. My budget is roughly $600–$800 in the MENA region, and I'm open to either a new or used GPU, although I'd prefer new if possible.

What you should buy depends heavily on local pricing, but with a $600–$800 budget, look for a modern mid-to-upper-range card that won’t be held back too badly by the i7-8700K. A Radeon RX 7800 XT or GeForce RTX 4070-class card would be sensible targets, especially if you play at 1440p. At 1080p and very high refresh rates, the older CPU may limit performance in some games, but the GPU would still be useful after your future platform upgrade.

Before buying, check your power supply model and wattage, along with the card’s physical dimensions. Also compare local prices carefully, since availability and warranty support can make a used card much better value than a new one.
