The battery is probably worn out or failing. A battery that remains at 2% despite being connected to power usually needs replacement, although it is worth confirming that the charger and charging port are working properly first. Avoid opening or puncturing the battery, since damaged lithium-ion cells can be dangerous.
Try a full power reset before ordering a battery: shut the laptop down, unplug the charger, hold the power button for about 30 seconds, then reconnect the charger and start it again. Also check whether the operating system detects the battery and whether the charging indicator changes when you gently move the plug.
