I was at school today, and my friend tried to hotspot me in hopes of bypassing the school wifi filter so we could play games and watch videos. It didn't work, which I figured would happen. But I'm curious: can my friend check my browsing history from that quick moment I was using his hotspot? I just want to make sure my privacy is protected.

When you're connected to someone's hotspot or any public WiFi, your data can potentially be accessible to others on that network. It's easier for someone to monitor your activity if they're on the same network, but whether your friend can actually see your browsing history depends on their knowledge of networking. So yes, they could, but it’s unlikely they would actively do so unless they have the right skills.

The short answer is: yes, your browsing history could be monitored. But, it really comes down to your friend's understanding of networking. If he's inexperienced, he might not even know how to check your history. Just keep in mind to be cautious about what you do online and consider using a VPN for added security.

Technically, yes, it’s possible for your browsing activity to be monitored when using someone else's hotspot. However, unless your friend is very tech-savvy and specifically looking into your activity, they probably won’t bother. So, you shouldn’t worry too much about it.
