I'm using Linux Mint Cinnamon and am still fairly new to Linux. I'm trying to set up Spout2PW so I can run VNyan, which supports Spout2, with transparency and capture the output in OBS. I installed PipeWire and the OBS PipeWire video support, downloaded the latest Spout2PW release, and am using the recommended Lina-fixes build of GE-Proton 10.
In Lutris, I configured the system options to use the Spout2PW script. After disabling Feral GameMode to get past an earlier script-reading problem, Lutris now starts the script but exits with this error:
"Spout2PW(debug): Spout2PW install path: /home/mae/spout2pw"
"can't connect: Host is down"
"Spout2PW error: Failed to check PipeWire daemon version"
Lutris then exits with return code 256. PipeWire appears to be installed and running in Mission Center, and I already use a PipeWire source in OBS for splitting audio tracks. Does this mean the PipeWire user service is not actually available to Spout2PW? What commands should I use to check its status or restart it?

You can also try restarting the relevant user services, then launch VNyan through Lutris again: `systemctl --user restart pipewire pipewire-pulse`. If that reports an error, or if the services immediately stop, share the output along with the PipeWire journal because that should reveal why Spout2PW cannot query the daemon version.
First, check the PipeWire user-service logs rather than only checking whether the package is installed. Run `journalctl --user -u pipewire` and look for startup errors, connection failures, or permission problems. Spout2PW needs to reach the PipeWire daemon in the same user session, so a system-wide service showing as active does not necessarily mean the user session is working correctly.
