My RTX 3060 Ti, Ryzen 5 5600X, and 32GB RAM build is approaching four years old, and it has served me really well. I can still play everything I want, although newer games such as Monster Hunter Wilds do not always maintain a stable 60 FPS. I play at 1920×1080 and have never really considered 1440p or 4K. I probably will not upgrade for another couple of years, but I would like to understand which GPU upgrades would be worthwhile, especially if I decide to buy sooner. The 3060 Ti still feels fast enough overall, so I would prefer a meaningful improvement rather than a small sidegrade.

If you want an upgrade right now, moving from a 3060 Ti to a card such as an RTX 5070 or RX 9070 would be a substantial improvement. A used RTX 3080 could also be worthwhile if it is only around $150 more, but it has limited VRAM and higher power consumption, so it makes more sense as a temporary step than a long-term solution.
Since you are waiting another couple of years, I would not choose a specific card yet. Prices, performance, and VRAM will change a lot by then. At 1080p, the 3060 Ti is still quite capable, so upgrade when a new card gives you a clearly noticeable jump rather than replacing it just because it is aging.
You can also get more life out of the platform with a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, 5800X3D, or another compatible X3D processor. That would help in CPU-heavy games, but at 1080p the GPU will usually be the more important upgrade for improving visual quality and frame rates. Check your motherboard BIOS support before buying an X3D chip.
The main limitation with the 3060 Ti is its 8GB of VRAM. It can still deliver good performance at 1080p, but newer games may start hitching when they exceed that memory budget. When you eventually upgrade, prioritize a card with substantially more VRAM so it remains useful for longer. Depending on prices at the time, something in the performance range of an RTX 5070, RX 9070, or RX 9070 XT would be a meaningful step up.
I play at 1920×1080, and the 3060 Ti still feels great overall. My main concern is avoiding the texture streaming and stuttering issues that newer games can cause.
