Can I Use Different Speeds of SSDs in My PC Build?

Hey everyone! I'm a first-time PC builder and I'm trying to figure out my SSD setup. Specifically, I'm wondering if I can have a Samsung 9100 Pro 2TB and a Samsung 990 Pro 1TB installed at the same time, even though they have different speeds. Is it necessary for them to be the same speed, or can they function together? Also, what's the best approach—should I keep one SSD for the operating system and the other for games? What would you recommend for maximizing speed between the two?

You can definitely mix different SSD speeds! Just make sure your motherboard can support the speeds of both drives. Research the specs for your motherboard slots. Also, for most users, the speed difference won't be a huge deal unless you're doing super intensive tasks.

Sounds good! I'm still picking out a motherboard, and I’m leaning towards B650 or B850—think that’ll work?
