My USB microphone recently stopped working, and I haven't been able to get any other microphone connection working since. I've tried the 3.5 mm audio jacks, Bluetooth, several headsets, and even the microphone on a PS5 controller. My headset is a Razer Barracuda X, and my custom iBUYPOWER PC has separate headphone and microphone ports. I've also tried adapters, but Windows still doesn't detect or use the microphone. What should I check?

The Barracuda X may use a TRRS headset plug, which carries both headphone and microphone audio through one connector. If your computer has separate headphone and mic ports, you need a CTIA-compatible TRRS-to-dual-TRS splitter, with the microphone plug connected to the pink mic input. Then open Windows sound settings and confirm the correct microphone is selected, check that microphone access is enabled, and test both the front and rear ports. If the headset works through its wireless USB receiver but not through the analog cable, the issue may be the splitter, the PC’s mic jack, or its audio drivers.
I’ve already tried adapters and multiple headsets, so I’ll check the Windows input settings and test the rear microphone port next. The wireless USB receiver is the only connection that has worked reliably.
