How can I connect a digital converter box to an old TV with only a 3.5 mm antenna jack?

I have a small 6-inch black-and-white television from around 2002 that I'd like to use with a digital-to-analog converter box. The converter is already receiving channels through an antenna, and it is configured for NTSC and CVBS output. The television has only one input: a 3.5 mm jack labeled "EXT ANT."

The converter has HDMI, composite RCA outputs (yellow video, red and white audio), component video outputs (Y, Pb, Pr), a coaxial audio-style output, and an RF antenna output labeled for analog channel 3/4. I tried using a 3.5 mm-to-RCA cable with several outputs. Connecting to the composite outputs produced some very noisy audio, but no picture. The component and coaxial outputs did not work.

Can any of these outputs connect directly to the television? Would the converter's RF antenna output work with a suitable coax-to-3.5 mm adapter, or is there another setup I need to use?

Use the converter’s RF antenna output, labeled for analog channel 3 or 4. Connect it to the television’s antenna jack with the proper adapter, then tune the TV to whichever channel the converter is set to—usually channel 3 or 4. This output is different from the RCA connectors because it carries the video and audio as an RF television signal.

After connecting it, make sure the converter is set to the same channel you tune on the TV. If the box is set to channel 4, the TV must be tuned to VHF channel 4.
