Hey everyone! I'm having an issue with Chrome automatically switching into Efficiency mode, and despite my best efforts, I can't seem to stop it. I've already updated to Windows 11 Version 24h2, and I'm not the only one experiencing this—there are a few others who have the same problem. I've tried adding a command line switch to the Chrome shortcut, but it doesn't seem to help. Here are the steps I followed:
1. I found the Chrome shortcut on my desktop.
2. I right-clicked and selected 'Properties.'
3. In the 'Target' field, I added `--disable-features=UseEcoQoSForBackgroundProcess` after the `chrome.exe` path.
4. Then I clicked 'Apply' and 'OK.'
So, does anyone have any other suggestions or tips on how to prevent this from happening?

The method you mentioned is the only official way I know to stop Chrome from going into Efficiency mode. I've heard there might be some related environmental variables, but I'm still looking into it. Let me know if you find something!
I totally understand your frustration, I hate that too! I've been dealing with it as well and I'm on a hunt for solutions.
I actually managed to disable it using Group Policy. Here's how I did it:
- Go to User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Google Chrome > Enable High Efficiency Mode.
- I set this option to Disabled, and it worked for me!
I can't find that setting in Intune's settings catalog. Is this specific to Group Policy, and not available through Intune?
