Hey everyone, I have a somewhat unusual request. I need to access a website and browse it as if I were in China for a research case. I've been trying to find a solution but most popular VPNs don't seem to have servers within China, which would have been an easy fix—just sign up, connect, and browse. Does anyone have any good recommendations for this? Thanks!

Your best bet might be to find someone in China who can share their screen with you. Alternatively, going to China yourself would work, but definitely not convenient.
Last time I checked, most VPNs in China connect from the mainland to Hong Kong before venturing out onto the internet. So finding a direct solution could be tricky.
We often hear about regions in China blocking VPNs entirely. It’s frustrating when clients can’t access their VPNs while traveling there, and they still expect us to find a way around it!
One option you might consider is to set up resources on something like Alibaba Cloud and route through there. But honestly, my first instinct is to say it's pretty tough to do anything like this, due to all sorts of restrictions.
Yeah, I can imagine setting up a cloud instance in China isn’t a quick task. We have Azure too, but I know it involves a heap of paperwork just to get the process started.
We utilize Palo Alto Prisma Access, which has gateways in Hong Kong and Japan, and it generally works well for these kinds of access needs.
A company-paid trip to China would be awesome! I could take some disposable devices and enjoy the experience, but it seems that's not an option right now.
