I'm considering upgrading my rig and I'm stuck deciding between two CPU bundles: an AMD 7800X3D and a 9600X. The 7800X3D is about $300 CAD more, and I'm planning to pair either with my upcoming RTX 5070 FE (currently on backorder). I primarily play eSports games like CSGO and Rainbow Six Siege at 1440p, and while I want to maintain high frame rates (over 240 FPS if possible), I'm not looking to upgrade my 144Hz monitor just yet. Is spending the additional $300 for the 7800X3D worth it in terms of performance?

Honestly, the 9600X should serve you well at 1440p. You'll still get solid performance in CSGO with 215+ FPS and even over 500 in R6 Siege, which is a great match with your RTX 5070. If you're mainly into eSports titles, you might not need the extra power of the 7800X3D.
